Executive Days – Learn Like a Boss

You can’t be what you can’t see. 

In many ways, the Face of Leadership™ Initiative is a response to our Learning to Lead™ program for grade 11 girls. For one weekend every May, 50 students from across the province gather on the UBC campus to learn about themselves—their strengths and values, and how these can be translated into leadership. These young women are intelligent, bold, and prepared to step into their leadership potential.

To helps these girls dream big, Minerva has partnered with the Face of Leadership™ Pledge signatories to host Executive Days – providing opportunity for young leaders to shadow the CEOs of some of BC’s biggest companies.

Each spring, we match grade 12 students with a host company for a half or full-day visit. The girls sit in on executive meetings, meet senior-level women working in the company, and share rare one-on-one time with the CEO.

In the words of our participants:  

“By far, the most valuable thing that I learned during my Executive Day was that it is important to keep an open mind in everything you do, and the future is what you make of it. It is usually in your best interest to take up every opportunity that comes your way, because even if it does not end well, it is a learning opportunity.”

“Being able to meet with all these amazing leaders has really left me with the impression that if they can do it, then so can I.”
